Intake Coordinator / Mental Health Therapist 

Please note that this position is not remote and does require time on site.

 

The Intake Coordinator at Head & Heart Therapy provides on-site therapeutic services to individuals experiencing mental health and/or substance abuse issues. Therapeutic services may come in the form of individual, group, couples, and/or family counseling depending on the clinician’s specialty/background. Please note that all staff members at Head & Heart Therapy are to adhere to the Oregon Administrative Rules, as they apply to our clinic, in addition to applicable state and national credentialing bodies. Additionally, the Intake Coordinator is responsible for screening all prospective clients, assigning prospective clients to clinician caseloads, and referring out when appropriate. The Intake Coordinator will also maintain a caseload of about fifteen clients per week. The number of screenings will vary based on clinic needs.

Responsibilities 

● Facilitates free consultations, Medicaid screening sessions, and provides individual psychotherapy to prospective clients. 

● Provides an initial diagnostic evaluation/intake assessment to new clients that includes: 

    1.     An ICD 10 diagnosis along with a DSM V diagnosis 

    2.     Gathering biopsychosocial clinical data such as symptoms, history, etc. 

    3.     Completing a mini mental status exam 

    4.     Initial plan and recommendations for treatment 

    5.     Assessing the client’s supports, abilities, and strengths 

● Develops treatment plans for clients. 

● Participates in a minimum of weekly hour-long supervision for the first six months.

● Makes appropriate referrals prior to the termination of services. 

● Maintains service records in accordance with OHA.

● Consults with the Clinical Director when necessary and appropriate. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Considerable knowledge of the techniques and principles of evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and/or internal family systems therapy

  • Strong organizational/time management skills; demonstrated flexibility in regard to job duties and assignments; ability to work effectively, independently and as part of a team to organize tasks, problem solve, make decisions, while handling multiple priorities

  • Knowledge and understanding of trauma focused interventions along with crisis interventions techniques

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in counseling or social work

  • At least two years licensed in discipline by Oregon state board: LPC, LCSW, LMFT

  • Ability to pass a background check per state requirements

Compensation and Benefits

  • Annual salary $85,000 (depending on credentials and experience)

Schedule

  • This position will be a blend of office based and remote work. 

  • Tentative schedule is Monday through Friday, 11am to 7pm. In person on Monday’s and Fridays with Tuesday through Thursday remote. (Please note that the schedule is tentative and there is flexibility. New hires will have the option work a four-day, ten hour schedule.)
