Office Support Specialist/Volunteer

My Story

In January 2023, I retired as Professor Emeritus with over 50 year’s experience in the field of special education. During my career, I taught children with and without disabilities, undergraduate/graduates, and future faculty at the doctoral level.

In addition to teaching, I enjoy writing grants and have procured over 5 million dollars. Funding supported students and University programs in areas such as diversity, Applied Behavior Analysis, emotional disabilities, or digital technology. My grant writing skills developed when I worked as a researcher in Washington, DC on several federal grants.

I am the author of several publications, training manuals, and books. I have made numerous presentations and am the recipient of several awards. In my spare time, I volunteered for many school districts and community organizations (earning me the title of Volunteer of the Year).

I am excited to serve as a Volunteer/Administrative Support Specialist for Head & Heart Therapy.

Please be patient with me in this new endeavor!
