HEAD & HEART THERAPY
A Modern Approach to Therapy
Head & Heart Therapy, located in downtown Portland, Oregon, is focused on helping individuals improve their lives, through methods that are innovative and evidence based. Sessions are individualized to meet the needs of the client, rather than a "one size fits all" approach. We also were awarded a Certificate of Approval from the Oregon Health Authority, which means that we meet significant behavioral health standards.

Therapy modalities at Head & Heart Therapy include Eye Movement De-sensitization and Re-processing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Art Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS) Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Motivational Interviewing, among others. Interested in learning more? Click on any link above to learn more about that specific modality or feel free to set up a free twenty minute consultation, asking us any questions that you may have.
Prior to setting up a free consultation, we recommend you check out the, 'About Us' tab, so you can get a better idea if we might be a good fit for you. Under the 'About Us' tab we provide more detail in terms of who might be a good fit for our clinic and clients we are unable to work with. Unfortunately, due to our certificate from the Oregon Health Authority, we are unable to work with clients who present with a primary substance use disorder.

Fritz Perls, the founder of Gestalt Therapy, defined teaching as; 'to show a person that something is possible.' Although we are not Gestalt practitioners, we are, in following that definition, teachers guiding our clients toward their own truth.
